Las Vegas is Raider Nation! In 2020, the National Football League (NFL) team moved to Las Vegas, and it’s no secret—Move 4 Less is a huge fan of the Las Vegas Raiders. Here are 5 reasons why they’re our favorite NFL team.

1. The Raiders were one of the original teams of the American Football League

The Raiders were founded in 1960 as one of the eight original teams of the American Football League. After three losing seasons, the franchise hired a new head coach and general manager, Al Davis, in 1963.

2. They’ve won 3 Super Bowls

The Raiders captured three Super Bowl Championships—in 1977, 1981 and 1984. They’ve also won the 1967 American Football League Championship and four American Football Conference titles.

3. Their players have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame 28 times

28 Raiders have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, including former owner Al Davis. The latest inductions occurred in August, 2021.

4. “Raider Nation” was coined by a fan

With an image influenced by underdogs and outlaws, the Raiders are known for their rabid fan devotion. Fan Jim Hudson coined the term “Raider Nation” in the 1990s, transforming the team into a brand with a diverse following. It’s not uncommon for members of Raider Nation to dress up in elaborate black and silver costumes for games.

5. Raiders fans include many big-name celebrities and musicians

Many notable celebrities and musicians are fans of the Raiders. TV personality Carson Daly, chef Guy Fieri and actor Tom Hanks, as well as members of bands Green Day, Metallica, Rancid and Slipknot have all voiced their allegiance to Raider Nation. Rapper Ice Cube has written several songs about the team and appeared in Raiders’ promotional videos.
